Climate & When to go to Uganda

Uganda has a warm climate all year round and, because it lies on Equator, daytime temperatures generally hovering between 24-28C. The hottest months are from December to February, when the daytime range is 27-29C. It can get considerably cooler at night in the highland areas.

The rains come two times a year, in October/November (short rains) and Mid-March to end of May. Rainy season is no reason to postpone travel however, as generally it rains for an hour and the rest of the day is clear and sunny. The wettest month is April. In the north the wet season is from April to October and the dry season is from November to March. During the wet seasons the average rainfall is 175mm per month. Humidity is generally low outside the wet season.

The best times for a visit to Uganda are January and February, and June to September, as the weather during these months is generally dry. However, our advice is that you travel in the period most convenient to you even at dry season. Rains is often short-lived and can be enjoyed.
